This would put the Red Dead 2 PC release date around December 2019. While ultimately the release of the GTA5 PC port was delayed by nearly six months, it is reasonable that Rockstar would be targeting a similar turnaround for the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC. More specifically, the PC port of Grand Theft Auto 5 was scheduled for release 14 months after its launch on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

This has of course not been confirmed by Rockstar, as the developer has not even officially announced a PC port of Red Dead Redemption 2, but looking toward the developer's history may at least provide some idea of a release window. With many now expecting a PC version of RDR2, the question then becomes when will it be released.

Additionally, Rockstar's previous two games, Grand Theft Auto 5 and Max Payne 3, were both made available on PC, which definitely sets a precedent for a Red Dead 2 PC port to be released. While none of this offers definitive confirmation of a forthcoming PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2, all together it certainly suggests that one is on the way. Even Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has chimed in on an RDR2 PC port, saying that there would be "no downside" to a PC release of Red Dead 2. Since then, these rumors have only grown stronger, with hints of a Red Dead Redemption 2 PC port appearing in the source code of the Rockstar Social Club, on the resume of a former Rockstar employee, and beyond. Months before the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date had even arrived, rumors about an eventual PC release of Rockstar Games' epic Western had already begun circulating.
